Winterthur, Switzerland - March 2009

I flew to Thailand last December for a two week holiday on Koh Phangan, generally relaxing and doing a lot of nothing (ie. eating, swimming, getting massages, etc). The rest of my time was spent riding my moped around the island, exploring, and having the occasional race...which brings me to my Swiss mate Dirk. Dirk was spending 3 weeks on Koh Phangan, and we inevitably became friends and spent a fair bit of time pushing our mopeds to the limit (Dirk missed his 'real' motorbike back home in Switzerland) and drinking a beer on the beautiful beaches.

I caught up with Dirk in Winterthur, in the north of Switzerland about a half-hour east of Zurich. The weekend was pretty spontaneous, I drove over from Germany on Friday after work and had Monday free to cruise back again and prepare myself for three more weeks of work before my holiday in Australia. The weekend involved relaxing and enjoying music, food, beer and the company of good people, much the same as in Thailand (go figure?!).

Anyway, big thanks to Dirk and Ravael, and all the other people I met who helped me unwind! Hope to see you in Germany soon.
