Thailand Trip - December 2008
After a long three years I am back in Thailand again! I left Germay last Saturday for 2 weeks holiday on Koh Phangan, arriving on Tuesday after a long trip and extra long stopover. I found a great resort (Sea and Sunset on Ao Wok Tum) and decided to stay the whole time here, now I have just one more night before I fly back to Germany. It has been a beautiful time here - to Dirk, Ray and Matilda, Alain and Camille, and of course Jack, thanks for the good times and for looking out for me. Would love to meet you people again one day! Sooo, merry Christmas to all and for those friends who are suffering the European winter, enjoy the photos and see you soon. Here are some pics from my trip, starting with my arrival in Chomporn to get the ferry to Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand.
After a two hour drive, two flights, an overnight bus and a 3-hour ferry ride I finally arrived back at Koh Phangan. I organised accommodation at the Thongsala pier and was soon in a taxi on my way to the Sun and Seaset beach resort. I had never stayed here before, but the guy selling was nice and I liked that it was a family run business. I got a bungalow one back from the beach and settled in, enjoying the next few days exploroing the island with Anne and enjoying the culinary offerings of the street market.
Most days were spend riding around the island, visiting the food markets, eating, swimming and getting Thai massages (Thanks Lek - painful!). Most evenings were spent having a couple of drinks at the Chocolate Bar with new friends. The sunsets are truly gorgeous, nothing like sitting watching the sun go down with a Sang Son bucket and good people.
