Australia Trip - October 2008

I headed back to Australia to visit family and friends in October 2008 for a 3 week holiday (luxury!!!). I arrived in Australia and picked up Callum, then headed up to Dad's place for the week. It rained most of the week, but we still had fun and managed to squeeze in a bike ride, a trip to the reptile park and a (wonderfully) short game of Monopoly (which Callum won...of course!)

Amie also officially graduated from her PhD, so now there are two Dr Matthews in the family! Congratulations Aim!

Here are a few pics from the first week at Dad's place, Central Coast, NSW..... Thats Callum with his tongue poking out, what a surprise! Also, check out the pic of the koala, what a poser!

After the week at Dad's I headed to Sydney to visit a few friends (Hi to Lez + Geek + Allira and Kylie!), shame I never have longer with you guys! I was nicely surprised by the view from the train platform at Circular Quay, I forgot how beautiful it is there... and the Manly ferry was almost enough to make me homesick. Hope all you Aussie residents realise how good you have got it.

I flew to New Zealand a couple of days later where I caught up with the other half of the family - Aslan, Claudia and Nurani and Mum and Nige! What a family reunion, was a beautiful time together and the first time we have managed to be together since about 2006...wow time flies. We spent the week in Hamilton and visited Rotorua and Raglan, then I headed back to Auckland for a days sightseeing. Also found my dream boat at the Auckland Yacht Club...oh yes, it will be mine! Here are a few pics from New Zealand....isn't Nurani gorgeous!
